Facade

Contributed by yellow_sundragon on Monday, 14th June 2004 @ 05:19:43 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

I'm the one nobody knows.
I'm the one that never shows.
There is two of us inside,
And I'm the one that runs to hide.

She's the one, and she's all wrong,
She's the one you think is strong.
She's the facade that you all see,
When you think you're looking at me.

She's the one who lives my life,
She's the one that gave up my knife.
She's the one, and day by day,
She's killing me, in her own way.

She's the act that I put on,
It's to her that you are drawn.
She's the facade you all see,
Why can't she just leave me be?

I'm the one that cries at night,
I'm the one that needs a light.
I'm am here and I want out,
Yet I can not even shout.

I am this body's only soul,
This charade is having its toll.
She's the facade that you all see,
Everyday she becomes more real than me.

Hey sweetness; we all have facades. Some of us have several. You must choose which person you truly want to be. In my life I had to incorporate 2 to make 1. Choose the one you feel to be the strongest and most effectual in your life and step into that one. Life can be tough at times, as you know, so always choose the one with emotional strength. You will be fine. It is a part of growing up, working through the angst and finding a spot in life where you feel safe and comfortable. I am always here if you ever just want to talk.

Hugs,
Rita

This is terrific! I really like the way that you chose to present it. There are many here that understand what it is to have a facade, to wear a mask, to exist behind a self built wall... so many have felt the need to do so (poetry, maybe, is a part of that as well). I'm so very delighted that many of us (yes... us - myself included) seem to be peeking out from behind it all lately. Your 'peek' was just beautiful.

Quite impressed,
~ SNM

She's killing me, in her own way.

I love that line!!! This is awesome, I'm gonna go check out your page now to see if you've posted anything else I've missed. I hate when that happens. This is a great write and it speaks so much truth.

Love ya!
