Audition Anxiety

Contributed by kayald on Monday, 14th June 2004 @ 12:16:27 PM in AEST
Topic: Event

Nervous in a cold folding chair
Trying to remove my mind from time
If I dwell too much on this moment, I won’t make it
This is exhausting
Complete dreaded torment
That occurs only when being judged and tested
“My name is Kay Alderfer and I will be singing ‘How I Feel’”
I hear my voice ripple as the piano player doesn’t follow me
But I go on and leave him behind
Wow, that was good
Did that really come from me?
Maybe I did better than I thought I would
Oh, now I can’t help but be hopeful
That maybe I can soak in the spotlight
Take center stage while the crowd stands in awe
But only if you give me the call I need
All I want is a moment of applause that I can say is mine

you captured this so well I have the worst problem in big bowling tournaments as well because its me against the lanes as it is your voice infront of all those people on the stage. (Breath deep) it helps!! Great write and you will get that center stage applause!
