Lifepoems

I wait in the midst of my dreams,
I exist in my sublimity,
There,in my mind, and here I am free,
Here,within these words,
I am free.
I speak to noone but myself,
Yet everyone hears my subconscious, utterances.
These words,thousands of them,
That express my fathomless mentality,
Haunt me in my very sleep,
I can never escape them,
I exault them,
I rue them,
They are the minstrel,
And I their instrument,
They and I are intertwined,
We are symboiants.
I have known no other way from my youth,
I see the world in which I live in words,
I see the bruised sky,
I see the ochre sun,
I see life,vibrant and callow,
All my senses awake to feel it,
I hear the ominous rolling thunder,
I hear the mourning waves ever reaching for,
The rising shore.
I feel the doleful wind upon my unclad breast,
I feel the blue raindrops fall from the empyrean.
I taste the red anger of my satin lover,
I taste the acrid complacency in a black refrain.
I smell the hoplessness of longing,
I smell the vanity of the mountains.
Yet mostly,
I see,
I see life.
I live and die in words,
I take them into me,
As the air I breathe,
And exhale them in a cornucopia of emotion,
I shall forever have them,
They shall forever plague me.
These words are bequeathed me of God,
He whom I dare not try to understand,
He who gave speech to apes,
He who is in everything I behold,
He who is all things.
I speak the dialect of ancients,
I see through the eyes of aeons,
My words are immortal,
For my soul is immortal.
Oh words,
Indelible though forgotten,
Soothing though offensive,
Unrefined though fruitful,
Forever haunt me,
In waking and in slumber,
Caress my weary soul,
For where there is a word,
There is life,
Abundant or penurious,
There is life...

That was some pretty sounding poetry. You've got tons of vivid imagry. It was a nice look into the mind of a poet/writer. Thanks for the comment/review on Flow of Bliss. The part that struck me as a bit strange was the lines about god where you said He who gave speech to apes...I was under the impression that, in the scheme of things in Christianity, humans are humans apes are apes. That line actually makes me glad it shows that you're willing to accept other theories and intermingle them. That above most everything is an important mindset to have, being bound to a single faith, science, theory, religion, what ever, in my mind is the root of all evil...unwillingness to change and tolerate others. |
