WoRTHLeSSLY BLeaK eXiSTaNCe

Contributed by xslashxprettyxskinx on Sunday, 13th June 2004 @ 09:15:25 PM in AEST
Topic: hbadday

She took a step back to reveal her weakness
Let down her walls so she wouldn't miss the view
Allowed it all to slip through her fingers for way too long
Disguised each expression of guilt with an "I never do".

Faked a smile to avert attention
Painted over the dullest razor blade scars
Gave up all her childhood innocences
Packaged up her pride in little baby food jars.

Thought she knew what would be coming
Just knew she had life all figured out
Took the lowest possible road in drenched bleakness
Forgot all the good she dreamed about.

Told each stranger as they passed
All a brand new liars tale
Sat in a cold and broke field of loneliness
Hidden are the bruised wings from when she fell.

Graced the covers of magazines
That only she could read
Flattered the world with her marvolous sob stories
Watched in amusement as their eyes would bleed.

She knew all the consequences of her dishonesty
Never allowed anyone to lend that helping hand
Drifted aimlessly from man to man
Drowning in her self-made pool of grief and demand.

This is absolutely striking. I am completely blown away by the verse below:

Faked a smile to avert attention
Painted over the dullest razor blade scars
Gave up all her childhood innocences
Packaged up her pride in little baby food jars.

This screams honesty... it is littered with powerful, creatively expressed emotion. Incredibly well done!

I can feel the speaker's pain as it is described, I'm glad I glanced upon this one on yet another mindless, late night scroll down the YDPC home page. Your writes are always worthy of anyone's time.

And I hope tomorrow is better than today, for what it's worth..:)

You express yourself with such originality that the emotions become new to the reader - I love your choice of words and description.

Really great -
