Paint me up with diamonds
I don't want to go away
But I have to
To get away with you.
I pack up my old blue van
and wave good-bye to that yellow house
The one with the broken broken window
That closely resembles my heart.
We drive along the coast
the salt air tears my eyes
At least that's what I tell myself.
We sleep, we eat, we stop to breathe: You read a magazine.
Just like you used to do.
Paint me up with diamonds
I have to get away
I see you everywhere I go:
A faded image of you
I keep in my head.
It's creased and wrinkled now
but I can still hear you laugh
and I tell myself I don't miss you.

An interesting poem. Kind of a laid back flow, just a nice read. I really enjoyed the lines:
the salt air tears my eyes
At least that's what I tell myself.
Very nice!
