How could you change like you did,
we understand you can't keep this hid,
But we just can't cope with this,
The old sister is who we miss,
You had a family and husband no doubt,
Now you tell us you want out!
That your in to girls they treat you with care,
Well those are things we don't want to hear!
We miss our talks and your helpfull advice,
we know right now we're not being too nice,
But we still are asking "Why did you change?"
Lately you've been acting so strange,
Is it her is she putting things in your head?
We all feel like a part of you is dead,
I know we will probably never understand,
Why you no longer want a man,
You're our sister and we will always love you,
No matter what you decide or choose,
But please remember who you once were,
the past with you is like a blur,
If this makes you happy than we will try,
Try to cope with this instead of pry,
It will be hard, but we'll deal with it day by day,
To finally come out and say our sister is GAY!

Good poem, I know it must be very shocking, but has she really changed? If she's happy, be happy for her. No one's saying you have to agree with her choice of lifestyle, only accept it because you love her.

she probally never 'changed' she probally always was this way but was afraid to come out to you and the rest of her family as that can be a very emotionally damaging experience when you are rejected by your own family and maybe that is what she feared- there is NOTHING wrong with being gay- i myself am bisexual- but it is very hard to tell your family about it especially if they are hard aginst it- i don't know you or your family so i won't make any assumptions but i will say that i feel your sister is very strong in telling her family about her lifestyle and i applaud her honesty and i applaud your poetry- |
