A life filled with hopes and dreams
Nothing is ever how it seems
A look in the mirror makes this day bad
I have lost everything that i had
Pictures tell a thousand words
But never tell the standards
People expect way too much
Magazines are all retouched
Toilet bowls are used for different things
We read the stupid sayings
"Food=Fat' just an example
Now you cant tell me that is cheerful
People need to reach inside their mind
And pull out the thing making us blind
To the reality that we could die
Instead we just deny
Laugh, smile, whatever you want
But remember that voice will continue to taunt
You need help from a professional
And also your guardian angel
Just try to stay positive
And then you will be able to live

I think all this "Food=Fat" paranoia is really stupid, we can attribute it to the so-called gotta-be-perfect-looking lifestyles of today. I'm glad you got past it and I hope you're doing fine now. |

I think this is a beautiful poem that alot of young people can relate to, in general, the goal of improvement or in some cases perfection is something that everybody at some stage wishes to obtain. It's a positive poem that could really help people, I'm glad you shared it, I can relate to it and I also hope you're doing okay. Or will consider the strength and powerful message within your own poem. Alot of it has come from within you and I think you have the spiritual power to beat an eating disorder. You have a beautiful poem here. |
