Upon falling ill
In a kind of forced sabbatical, if you will
I find myself lost in myself
Deep within the English garden maze of my mind
First time in nearly 3 decades that I find myself apart from a chaotic world
The break comes from my body getting ran down
It’s taken a beaten upon being privy to harsh Earthly winds
I fought the battle to try and work on through
My usual self
Now, subtly and in a ‘winding down’ fashion, both my body and mind
Came to a halt
And for the first time I can recall-
I have truly enjoyed silence
