"Amazed"-
our song,
and I was
may still be,
but less,
so little
now.
"Amazed"
by the blue
of your eyes
and how quickly
they'd turn to grey
in the midst of unprovoked ire.
"Amazed"
at the gentle
tingle of your touch,
the butterflies born in my tummy,
and later-
the fear that lets you
tie it up in knots,
after the tenderness
becomes torrid and vile.
"Amazed"
that I am no good
to you now-
no good because
all those amazing
places,
feelings,
memories,
Evaporated into
my own tears shed,
and you forgot that you too,
were amazed.

I don't think I've ever seen amazed used to represent such a sorrowful message before. I like the vivid self description and emotional representation of this poem. You've made your feelings quite clear. Good job. |
