I’d Like To Say…
I’d like to say I’m okay but I’m not
I’d like to say I’m happy but I can’t
I’d like to say that I can move on, but I can’t,
Because I’m still so in love with you
I’d like to say that I can forget, but I can’t
I’d like to say that it was for the best, but I just can’t see that,
I’d like to say everything’s going to be okay, but it isn’t
Because I still need you
I’d like to say that I will find another, but all I want is you,
I’d like to say that I will survive, but I feel like giving up,
I’d like to say the pain will heal but it’s so hard,
Because I can’t get you out of my head
I’d like the say that anger will lift,
I’d like the say the confusion will settle,
I’d like to say that I will love again, but I can’t
Because you still mean the world to me.

Ah, I know that feeling. It is very tough. But believe me, the time will come when you will be over this. It hurts to think of it... why should love that was so wonderful fade? Why does moving on feel almost like betrayal? How can I love again?
But believe me, our first loves, no matter how deeply they are felt, are seldom meant to be the lasting ones. It rarely happens. I think in a way it is good, for we can learn very much going through this (it is the trials that bring wisdom), that we may never have learned otherwise.
So lift your head up, and realize that this is often the way of things. Grieve, but when the time comes, move on. And learn all you can. There is much wisdom to be found where you are. You will love again. And wisdom will make your love stronger.
