Come On England

Topic: happypoetry

We have our opening game tomorrow against France,
Come on lads, let’s lead them a merry dance,
Hear our songs loud in the stands,
See our support our cheers and our waving hands.

Come on lads you know you can win,
Set your target on the goal and kick the ball in,
Right past the goalies gloved wings,
Feel all the love as it’s your name the crowds sing.

11 Men stand side by side,
Nothing to fear and nothing to hide,
Give the opposition all you’ve got,
Take a chance and go for the shot.

We are England we stand united,
Get in between their formation and leave them divided,
All we need is a couple of goals,
Who will make us proud, Beckham, Owen or Scholes?

England flags are already flying high
Out of windows, on car doors , flapping into the sky,
Playing for it all in your 4,4,2 formation,
Hear the victory song of our great nation.
