Fighter

Contributed by pixie on Friday, 11th June 2004 @ 05:29:57 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

You made me what I am today,
Thanks for the hurt you put my way,
It made me determined to not let you win,
I know I can survive through thick and thin.

You wanted me to admit defeat,
Hide away in some closed off retreat,
But NO I am one of life’s survivors,
I am not letting you be one of my deprivers.

What didn’t kill me made me stronger,
I can now hold on for so much longer,
Whereas before I’d experienced heartache,
My soul was much more easy to break.

I will fight until the bitter end,
Words of thanks and gratitude I send,
To you the reason for my iron will,
You’d have loved to see me pop those pills.

Then my friend you would have won,
And my demise would have begun,
But this time I turned it all around,
Picked myself up from the ground.

Everyday I live and breathe,
It is another day that you can’t believe,
That it is I who defeated you,
And this time there is nothing you can do.

Hoorah! Pixie --- Very positive and inspirational. Ah... there's always someone that will try to beat you down... but... they can't touch your soul if you don't let them. Kudos to you for standing strong! Nicely done!

Man I don't remember who, but some "great man" once said that you can't be defeated by anyone else unless you first defeat yourself....

Great write, and I know I was there, so... thanks for sharing...

Jaime

It reads like rhyming and making it so sound so good and fluent are like the easiest things in the world to do for you. You've got a mad crazy talent, don't let up. Be a bad ass

Pixie - you are so true. What doesn't kill us only makes us stronger. Once again you took my breath away when I read this. I loved it. Keep up the good work, once again. This poem should be the anthem to life and bad relationships! I loved it.
