Old Soul

Contributed by Luinil on Thursday, 10th June 2004 @ 08:45:39 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Light and shadow effortless to find
Carefully treading an old soul’s mind
Trials of old inherited through time
Ancient hands now guiding this rhyme

Thundering roar rolls across the village
Fiery breath thirsting to pillage
Massive wings haul a terrifying visage
All men cower at the devastating image

A simple life endured and lost
The Celtic sun melts morning’s frost
Castle walls shield Irish rain’s accost
A love created for lives fated to be crossed

Epic stories carved into stone
Pyramids point where Orion’s belt shone
An ancient boy forced from his throne
Doomed to wander Death’s path alone

A forest serenaded by the stream’s flow
The wind persuades the trees to grow
Nature nurtures raven and willow
Grateful youth dance ‘round fires aglow

Two lives joined in an endless link
Enduring the ages, each an eye’s blink
New lives, old memories yearning to think
Searching, finding at creation’s brink

Darkness ahead, lessons learned behind
Unresting feet watch the path unwind
Every new day brings a struggle to find
The morals of myths trapped in this mind
