One day I hope to be
The little boy you want to see
The boy you took by the hand
When he fist stepped in the oceans sand
I hope that I made you smile
When I’d jump in the dirty close pile
You were always there to take my hand
Just like when I walked on the ocean sand
Did I make you proud on my fist year in class
When I pulled my weight and actually passed
Did it make you smile as I took your hand
Just like I did on the ocean sand
I pray to god I may you smile
And my life was worth the while
I’ll never forget when you took my hand
As we stood on the ocean sand
