Edge of Eternity

Contributed by Silent-No-More on Thursday, 10th June 2004 @ 11:01:39 AM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

Meet me at the edge of eternity
Where nothing matters but you and me
I’ll be waiting there long before
Daring to knock on forever’s door
Show me that you’re strong enough
Escape from time, call my bluff
But love, if you cannot promise this
I’ll leave you with an earthly kiss
Carry on then! But keep my heart
It will be yours though we’re apart
You’ve had it for so very long
It's grown accustomed to being strong
Safely tucked in next to yours
It will not leave the one it adores
Keep it then! I’ve given it up
I don’t need it now that I’ve grown up
I trust you to carry it with you now
And hope that one day, somehow
You’ll meet me at the edge of eternity
And bring my heart back home to me

I believe that all true loves will reside in eternity. That is where I want to be with my love when we are together again. This is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing it.

Hugs,
Rita

Aha! Your last comment on my premium submission had me wondering a bit . . . lol.
Now i've read this, It all seems clear.

Aside from the fact that you write consistent rhythmic beauty and portray lovely thoughts with emotions - it's an uncannily good work with an uncanny happenstance.

An intriguing write . . .

Awesome, awesome, awesome. I feel like this is one of the best poems I have ever read....but...then again, I haven't read all of your poems yet now have I? While I'm not the most fond at making comparisons....and true, all of your writing is so beautifully inspirational, this one seems to be standing out in the crowd.
