Soft and Sweet

Contributed by reilt on Thursday, 10th June 2004 @ 09:40:38 AM in AEST
Topic: AnniversaryPoems

Soft and sweet
Neath the sheets
Wrapped warm in
This morning's slumber.

Oh you are a dream to me
A quiet reverie
Sliiping, at an ease, into reality
And voicing itself in rapture
You are nights of passion
And a joy I have yet
To find words for.

They hide, unspoken, behind this
I surround it
While you, within me,
Seal our union
Gentle and free
And sift through my bones
To make a pleasure of me.

Here you hold me down to days
Where you reveal an honest me
A comfort in my own skin
I am found and unveiled
Restored
As my luck is running deep into belief
You are my reason and my faith.

And swelling inside my tender heart
This feeling grows and stretches
With the hours that spread
Into this hightime,
Our time.
And beautiful you
You dawn and break
Beginning and becoming
And coming again.

I breathe you in
And savour it
Every moment
Soft and sweet
That passes and flows between.
I sleep with my ideal and wake
An afterglow
To cover my content
With you.

I liked this - nice job - I think my favorite line was this -

As my luck is running deep into belief

How clever and true!

A perfect summary of the love you feel.
May you always feel it so intensely

Good luck

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
