Daddy wants to be there!

Contributed by lowman613 on Wednesday, 9th June 2004 @ 11:36:13 PM in AEST
Topic: FathersDayPoems

I know you think daddy never has time,
to play all day with you,
or think I never have a dime,
to buy you something new,
Daddy works hard for the things you got,
I really wish I could be there,
the Love we have cant be bought,
I hope you know I care,
When daddy saids "Not today"
I'm really hurting inside,
really I too want to play,
but I hold in my pride,
I need to be there every day for my job,
or we wouldnt have food or clothes,
You dont understand, and sit & sob,
and believe me daddy knows,
I'd like to be there for all of you,
and I do try when I can,
but Daddy has to do what I have to do,
Its part of being a man,
One day you will understand,
and you'll see that I was in pain,
all those times I wanted to reach for your hand,
and could'nt made me go insane,
A daddy has a tough job you see,
when we want to really be there,
we have to go & make money,
It's to show you how much I care!

Yes, it is difficult for them to understand but in time they will realize how much they were loved and cherished. It also gives them a life lesson about family responsibility when they get older and look back. That is what Daddy's have to do to take care of their families. Just hug them and reassure them.

I can understand why this may seem so hard for them to understand, but I'm sure they will soon and in their own way.....
Don't you worry too much about it..they know you both love them very much and that is what matters...
Hugs
Jenni
