Far above the nighttime sky, am I
To rendezvous where you fly
You trusted me through the years
And gave me wings to get me here
But you must know, forever true
These wings were really meant for you
In freedom, yours were damaged some
As you struggled towards the sun
I never was brave enough to fly
Until I heard your distant cries
I want you to know, forever true
That if I could I would mend you
I would stay upon the ground, down
Where angels like you can’t be found
If your wings were not strong enough
You’d still fly, my beautiful seraph
You must now know, forever true
I would give up these wings for you
