Save You

I save you every night
Of course not when it counted
I see it all again, do something different
Dozens of times, lots of different ways
Faster, more clever maybe
The days don’t seem to matter anymore
You’ve been gone for so long
I wish I could have done better
Done better for you, so you might still be here
Never have failed you, broke the promise
So you wouldn’t have had to leave
Every night I save you
