Missing you more each day

Contributed by sweetansexy on Wednesday, 9th June 2004 @ 08:31:38 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Everyday I miss you
Everyday I cry
Everyday I look above
And ask the good Lord why?
So many things have happened
Since you were taken away
I wish that I could tell you
I would have so much to say.
My heart it has been broken
Like it never will again
You were more than just my father
You were also my best friend
I sometimes think I see you
Sitting in your chair
And then I look again
And I see that your not there
I miss you every moment
Of each and every day
If I had the chance to talk to you
Here are the things that I would say
Thank you for the time you spent taking care of me
Thank you for the times you let me sit upon your knee
Thank you for loving me even when you were mad
Thank you for correcting me the times that I was bad
Thank you for teaching me all the things Id need to know
Thank you for letting me make mistakes so that I could grow
There’s so much more Id like to say that you will never hear
Just know this dear daddy, in my heart Ill keep you near

I really enjoyed this. My dad and I, we don't get along. You should be happy that you had a father that was actually a father. My dad is like a little kid with a temper, and it gets me really mad at times. I should be thankful though. Im lucky I have a father, and I hope that you keep him close to your heart, and never let him escape your soul.
Luv

Your poem brought tears to my eyes...How hard it must be to lose a parent.I've lost a friend and I found pieces of myself inside your poetry.Like you, sometimes I see a girl on the street and just turn around and realize it's not her and it's so very hard...I'm really sorry for your dad and I hope the pain will soothe itself, but please remember that the bond shared soul to soul is the strongest bond ever and nothing can break it.I'm sure your father is watching over you and has heard all of these things you wanted to share with him.God bless,
PumpkinPie
