This House is not a Home.

This house is not a home.
The walls crumble around me,
And I inhale the dust,
Praying for deliverance from this suffocation.
But I asphyxiate not from the air.
As this tension fuses with your paranoia,
I find myself choking on these words
That no one's ever heard.
Instigation--I am slain by your blade.
My only cure is snatched from my hand.
My knives kept under lock and key.
Proclamation--I'll write it on the walls
Till you understand I'll never be
All the things you ask of me.
Tolerance--I'll have no part of it.
You'd have me hide my scars.
But I can't make you hide your indecision.
So I'd have you wear the impossible mask of perfection
So you could see
This house is not a home.
