What time is it?
it's 5:40
Time to leave the house
and go to earn money.
I'm off to work
but more is on my mind
than I can ever explain
in a poem or rhyme
Maybe one day
I won't mess up so much
maybe one day
love won't hurt me so much
But I can't think too deeply
on this thought right now
because I'm off to work.

I like the fleeting nature used here, as if to show how we are submerged in our mundaneity each and every day, from higher / deeper thoughts or aspirations . . .

Very good poem....I remember when I worked all the time......I felt the same......couldn't think of anything except just getting to work.

The best thing about work is when life has you down you can just submerge yourself in the job to where you can delay the inevitable of dealing with your problems. I used to do that a lot. But sooner or later . . .

work is a good thing - keeps one's mind occupied so you don't dwell on your probs too much - i like this poem, it is very simple and honest, nice work
