Down the Road

LoveRemembered
|
It is unlikely that
I love you
It was a surprise how much
I care
I would give you my body and
heart
would you but ask, but you
do not.
My soul quiets when I see you
but my spirits lift
I am filled with joy when near you;
each parting is a quiet death.
With you came
light into the darkness
warmth into the fastness
color into the bleakness
that was my soul
But you are taken, and
the sun sets on my broken dreams.
And I know that this path may not lead to
happiness, not for me, but
I will go on, leaving with you a token,
a small piece of my soul and
and a home in my heart.
And I wish for you good luck and love and
a joyful, fulfilling life
And I hope that I may share some small part
of it with you
And I dream that we may one day meet
down the road.

A sensitive, light-filled piece. Very beautiful. Excellent!
May your road rise up.
