Miniscule creation bound by earth
Taking in drops of life
Quiet and still, at rest under soil
Now creeping slowly above horizon’s border
Reluctantly reaching out to embrace
Eyes opening in bloom, blinded by light
Reaching, still reaching out to hope
Ignored, neglected, flattened under foot
Wilted by wind, weighed down by rain
Dry and withered, thirsting to breath
Unnoticed, unloved, hope diminished
Ripped from root for one simple smile
Cornered by dark and shadow
Bowing to death, over water in glass
Abandoned, piece by piece dropping to death
