AN END TO THOSE WHO KILL

Contributed by steeleyes on Tuesday, 8th June 2004 @ 05:22:07 PM in AEST
Topic: political

Let's now hear the fanfare
Iraq under the UN
America eventually to leave
And who know's maybe then

A beginning for peace
For a nation full of pain
And end to their suffering
And the future all to gain

If only it may be like this
But it's a distant hope
The men who did them harm
One mad dictator, one hopeless dope

Iraq may be a battlefield
All our lives or more
Opened wide to bin Laden
Bush pushing in the door

This resolution could have been
One year ago for sure
The UN should have been in charge
They were the only cure

Not Bush and arrogant America
Trying to prove a point
That they would teach a lesson
Kick ass around the joint

Instead it was they who learned
The limits of their power
That without co-operation
You cannot win the hour

Arrogance caused their fall
Now the UN picks up the bill
Let's hope a new start has now begun
And an END to those who kill

Damn, this is good!
This is worthy of a read across the globe.
Thanks be to YPDC that people can.
One of your best, Steel.
So eloquently, and truthfully put - it cuts through the crap to the core, and that's what I always love about your style of poetry.
