Only A Real Love Can Open A Caged Spirit

"Only A Real Love Can Open A Caged Spirit"

A beautiful spirit, is trappen in a cage
so much soorrow, so much rage
I cant get out, or so it seems
I need to love, I need to dream
But how to open that sealed door?
There must be a way for me to soar?
A key somewhere, that I must find
But where to look or find a sign
I ponder this question day and night
But always the answer is out of sight
A dread rides by, and sees me there
I think he's another that will not care
I turn away, and start to cry
I shout to the heavens, why? why? why?
I have alway been gentle
I have always been kind
why do I suffer?
why must I be blind?
The dread dismounts, and falls to his knees
In front of the cage, and says "spirit please..."
" I am the one who has sought you so long,
let us talk for a while, let me sing you a song"
Through many long nights
They would talk and listen
'til the morning dew, would start to glisten
They awoke one morning
and knew it was true
That a love had blossomed
and hope was renewed
"I will find a way" he said to this man
"to open this door as quichk as I can."
"and when I do and she is free,
never again will she need a key"
"she will always be cared for, always be loved.
I swear on my soul, and all thats above"
He reached for the door
and pulled on it's latch
but the door would not give,
for his strength was no match
"we must wait for a while
until the hour is right.
time must pass, 'til we can see the light"
" I can wait no longer, I spoke with a tear.
It has been to many hours, to many years"
"my heart is weary, and it longs to be free
my strength has weakened
but I will try and wait with thee..."
"if you promise to love me, and stay by my side
one day I will join you, and away we will ride"
"I need you, my spirit, and with you I will stay,
for as long as it takes, for us to see that day"
"and when that day comes, and we are as one
our joy will embrace us,
like the warmth from the sun"
"and never again, we'll never be weary,
our eyes will be bright, our smile will be cheery"
"I will complete you, as you complete me.
and our love will continue, for all...eternity"

I know why the caged bird sings

I like this topic, think it is handled alright here,
the pattern starts to feel a little repetitive, but all in all, I think you tackled it well

Very good write...I kind of agree with the pattern being repetitive...but then again it did have a nice flow.

Bravo, bravo. Props go off to you, my friend.

"...That a love had blossomed and hope was renewed."

That had to be my favorite part.
Good job, good job.

Cool story. A classic tale of prince saving princess. It has a fantasy touch to it like a fairytale. The dread makes me think of bard because he says let me sing you a song. Nice job making things rhyme that must take awhile to write. Man I could never make something flow that well lol. Once again well written.
