The Last The End

Contributed by Eve on Tuesday, 8th June 2004 @ 02:13:53 PM in AEST
Topic: goodbyepoetry

Caress the wind one last time
Forget my envy; it was never mine.
Reflect on those mountains you were made to climb
Turn your back and say it's fine.

It'll be gone soon, so kiss your goodbye
Blink away the suddenly dark empty sky.
This is the only moment you can justify
Seize it and you've got your split second to cry.

You'll be gone away, but no regret
Just remember I'll be here; don't forget
Somehow I'll find you, waiting in the sunset
As if tomorrow you won't pay the same debt.

I don't know what you'll discover out there
I'll send with you good wishes to be fair
But be wary; many a dove does the world ensnare
They don't consider you human even if I still care.

Tomorrow you're not going to be here
Yet I refuse to shed a tear.
This time I know you'll want me to fight off fear
In this relentlessly cold land of the austere.
