The wall of Shame

I see you watching me
I know what you're thinking
But when I look in your eyes
I see you've changed
It's strange
You seem ashamed
Now I'm wishing that it were the same
(you're giving me that look again)
We'd been friends
Until then
Don't let the thoughts of the past
overtake you
Push them back and keep going
Forget
The knowing
Maybe later in life I'll join you
But right now the thoughts hold me down
In the troubles
I will drown
I would give anything in the world
If you'd help me knock down
The wall of shame
Just to be
Friends again

What a lovely way of saying just put it all behind....it's water under the bridge......we can't go back to change anything......can't we just go on from here!
Very well written poem indeed.
That wall of Shame ruins more relationships....it's so hard to knock down completely
Great write!
