An Irish Sunset

The Irish sun is burning
Its rays bleed into the sky
Before a brotherhood of hiding stars
Evening lovers gather nigh.
A Celtic sunset is a warning
Of something awesome in the air
Of the worst of life and the best of it
Of friends and family drawing near.
The Irish twilight is a blessing -
A treble promise to unfold
The place on earth closest to God.
A lively evening story told.
The Irish sunset is a pledge
From departed pilgrims to return
As songs of erstwhile summerfest
Keep them as they journey on.

This is excellent, Elena. I do enjoy the notion of sunset and sunrise/summerfest o'er the shores of the Americas.
Beautifully sentimental. |

Oh My Elena,
You did yourself proud on this one.
It was absolutely beautiful in imagery, and all other ways too!
Brilliant poetess' can paint sunsets with words that you can see in your mind's eye!
Prettiest one yet for me!
Marvelous indeed!

Just beautifully written Elena. An Irish beauty is who I am love with and this poem relates and releases imagery about her. She is like the rays of the sun. An Irish sun!

Beautiful! You did a wonderful job. I loved it. I love watching the sun go down and hide behind this big hill side behind my house. It's so calming. I liked this poem for the life that you gave to it. You made me feel like I was there. I also like this poem because I'm mostly Irish! Keep up the good work. Hope to hear more.

Beautiful! Such a vivid sense of color and vitality. This is full of the love that the Irish feel for all the wonderful things of God's making. Well done!
