destruction of the soul

Contributed by korax on Tuesday, 8th June 2004 @ 04:33:31 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I ask my alter ego who is in control
A paranoid reality or a tortured lying soul?
The truth it clouds my mind so much
I do not know the real me
My soul poisons my thoughts each day
Erodes my sanity
Am I a product of a nineties youth?
Let down by haunted dreams
A failure to realise my potential
Thats how it seems to me
A man who frees trapped animals
Yet forgets to shut the gate
A man who se childhood dreams have died
Ambition turns to hate
I'm a faded jewel in an unworn crown
With thorns around my head
My smile still plays, but oh so false
My soul is almost dead
So one more go thats all I have
The strongest has turned weak
I part with a bow and a sly old smirk
Depart with a poisoned kiss upon thy cheek
