I Guess My Best Was My Worst...

Contributed by SheDevil13317 on Monday, 7th June 2004 @ 10:20:46 PM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

I've awakened to another day, I'd better pray, for a better day, Though I giggled, and laughed as I stretched out of bed, Seeing the little one, with tears at hand. He fell off his bike, and took a blow from the land, I shooed him away, the the eldest brother there. As my schedule is off, and next comes my fear.

I was dressed and ready, hurring myself, doing chores before the clock hit ten, before my faults could be found, by the one whom I fear. I finished my chores, by the time the clock hit ten, then came the creak, of the opening front door. My flaws were detected after minutes of search, all was all wrong, now glass was on the floor.

Thus, I was not perfect. My best was my worst, I guess my looks matched that well, since it was swell with in moments. Darkness had entered, yet a glowing bright room, I found myself in, a hospital's bed room. Da said I slipped, or maybe even tripped. But the bruises were punch marks, from an effort to do well, to be proud, knowing, I've done Da well.

I cried that night. Knowing morning will come, and a thrashing will too. I dried up my tears, and sucked in my sobs, and heading back home, to the sharp, waiting glass.

I slumped into the cough, more like a slouch, but it was broken, when a tongue thrashing was bout. Ma said I deserved a lickin' or two, because I had no clue on what to do. So, I picked myself up, and redid my hard work before. Still my parent's not proud, just yelling real loud. I tried to quicken my pace, to matching the dripping sweat on my face, but I was held back, by my tatter right ankle. After all was finished, and the talking had quited. I dove into bed, surely head first. Sure tomarrow will be better, like getting a love letter.

But when I awoke, at the stroke of dawn, a tall lean man, awaiting for me, with his belt in hand..
