I am a feather, floating on a breeze.
I don't know what my destination is,
But I know what I seek.
I drift along,
Going so high I can almost reach the sky.
And then I fall endlessly,
The whole world falls around me.
Forever and ever,
Until it stops,
It all stops.
I am drifting again, but not toward my destination,
Toward something far worse.
I cringe at what lies ahead.
And just when I think nothing could be more horrid,
I let myself fall one last time.
I fall into your hand.
"Where do you belong?" You ask me.
"Oh, I know exactly where you're headed. Let me give you a hand." And then you let me go.
Now I'm drifting toward my destination
With no fear in my heart and only love in my path.
I know wherever I go you'll be there, guiding my every move.
(Moral: Feathers float on breezes, but fall when they have none to support them. We fall when we have no love or fear to support us, but are lifted up again by God's precious love).

Nice poem. I liked the moral. Odd, though, I thought, that you said we fall without love or FEAR? I think we fall with the fear also, only we think that we are still flying....that's what makes the pain of hitting rock bottom so much harder. I like your simile to a feather. Creative way of putting it.
