The alchemist awaits for the perfect moment
Perchance tonight, on the eve of the bloodmoon
Enter the twilight , to begin his mournful lament
The city in a standstill , but it's still too soon
In a circle he sat as aquaintances converse
In passing perhaps a nod of recognition
Misplaced with his peers, he can't seem to immerse
Why try to belong when he lacks all ambition
It matters not , even if he sincerely tried
They couldn't comprehend the opaque within
A terminal parasite best left on the outside
So with no reluctance he never lets them in
Feeling sentimental , memories of things fond
In his garden of solace he meandors at peace
Till witnessing dim futures in a reflecting pond
A well gone dry , closer to meeting his release
He experiences a transition alone in his room
Gives over to it, out of mind, out of body
Like still death , lets the minions consume
Coming to completion, this path of apostasy
Where are the answers , back when he cared
Taught nails and thorns , ticket to absolution
Soul graft , allowed himself to be ensnared
Undeserving of forgiveness, only retribution
Psychomanthium , captured in his fright
Wanders around an empty house in vain
Muses " what would happen from this height
If I throw myself through the windowpane "
Anger reflex , just too much to conceal
Just a taste , he taunts, knowingly deceived
With shaking wrist he gleamed the steel
A deeper shade then he would have believed
The last sonata he begins to compose
Final thoughts, final revision , hour impending
The final chapter is approaching a close
Cannot have an epilogue without an ending
Insignificant in death , as he was in life
He cut the brake line and closed his eyes
Dead and deceived , but liberated from strife
In an unmarked headstone is where he'll lie
" I cast no shadow since imprisioned
My own silence lonelier then envisioned "

The second, but surely not the end? Despite it including Death in the title, it can't end, really. Again, well captured, recrafted, and produced.
Keep writing,
-Eve. |

Expertly written by a true fan.
I'd find a series of poems written about my work quite a bizarre thing to read, but this flows very well.
Good work.
