Down Here
Have you ever been trapped down here?
With no-one who loves and for no-one to care,
I have, a thousand times before,
When misery and anguish have beaten down my door.
I have hidden and I have ran scared,
Hoping and praying all my wounds can be repaired,
I have been so low and felt so weak,
Sometimes been to emotionally drained to even speak.
Have almost given myself over to death,
When I have felt there was nothing else left,
I would have gladly handed myself over on a plate,
Let the after life continue my fate.
I have been to my own living hell,
Stuck right at the bottom of a dark and eerie well,
I clawed and clawed to pull myself to the light,
I struggled and fought it with all my might.
The amount of times I have fallen back down,
Taken another beating and never made a sound,
Just dusted myself down and gotten up again,
Never let myself buckle under all the strain.
Down here is where I have spent a lot of time,
And from down here I will always climb,
I’m not prepared to live down here anymore,
I cant see the light and walk through the door.
So I’ll just stay down here,
My own personal hell,
And hope that someone will
Save me from this eerie well.
