Walk in his shoes

Contributed by sweetangeluk on Sunday, 6th June 2004 @ 04:15:48 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Today I cried a river for someone's son
One person less fortunate took away my fun
A Stranger walking miles tattered shoes
Feet sore bleeding needing attention bruised

Help must assist he looked at me so strange
Please lady spare me a cup of tea some change
Walking in circles loved once now shun
What's his life story how could this be undone

Authorities don't want to know wash their hands
No care in the community ill sick they understand
Closing down homes where they need to be cared
Makes me so sad ten course dinner for the blairs

Tattered coat no shoes bruised feet sad heart
God help him please help a small part
Life on the streets a gift tear stained shoes
Thank you he replied may god bless you enthuse

Love Angelxxxxxxx

Very good poem on a very serious ailment in our day and time. I once lived in a cardboard box. see my poem Cardboard Box. This poem pleased me no end because it shows a sympathy with the down and outs of this world.5/5 top marks.

Your poem really tugs at the heartstrings.

I am reminded of how blessed I am and how needful another is.

I wish for no one to be hungry, homeless or unloved.

Very moving poem Angel.

It is just so very sad that in this day and age there are people homeless no one to love and no one to care.
Breaks my heart it does.
We are so lucky to have all the things we have.
Some may say they do not work to deserve that right ......give them a chance and see if they would not turn their life around.

It is being given that chance?

Not turning a blind eye because of what has happened to them in their lives.
Who are we to judge them.

Thank you all for your replies they are so appreciated thanks also to Kie and emmy.
Sorry If I went on a bit there just a subject close to my heart.

Lots of love Sweetangelukxxxxxxx

This is truly a compassionate write.... It is really disheartening to know that this is a fact of life everywhere in the world... Great write on such a sad situation....
