NO COMFORTER

"NO COMFORTER"

Silent still, no longer alive,
Robbed by uncertainties, unable to survive.
Nothing living, feelings gone, no growing green.
Hearts of petrified wood, sadly, many mean.

Row after row, no comforter,
Open country without a defender.
Surrounded by weeds, roots sink deep.
Immensely scarred hearts, no incentive, asleep.

People are hurting, broken branches fall,
Hearts wrenched, painful losses recall,
A son gives his life on a distance shore.....
Daughter's overdose, devastating family core.

Long lasting relationships come to nil
Heartless, no compassion or mercy are truly real!
Pretenders devoid of conscience.
Pray upon the lonely soul's temperance.

Gore, atrocities, abhorrent acts.
No peace and security, broken contracts
Lover's of money, instead of lover's of life.
Mankind beasts have become like wildlife!

He will bring to ruin those ruining.
Compassionate comfort for hearts aching.
No more suffering, tears, nor outcry.
No need for comforter, to death say "Goodbye!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Self acceptance comes from meeting
life's challenges vigorously. Don't numb yourself
to your trials and difficulties, nor build mental
walls to exclude pain from your life. You will
find peace not by trying to escape your problems, but by confronting them courageously.
You will find peace not in denial, but in victory!"
~J. Donald Walters~
As I created this poem I couldn't help think of
the scripture in Ecclesiastes 4:1:"And I
myself returned that I might see all the acts of
oppression that are being done under the sun
and look! the tears of those being oppressed,
but they had no comforter; and on the side
of their oppressors there was power, so that
they had no comforter."
Even King Solomon could see it in his day!"
We are all the same. This is the key to compassion. Those fixated with the destruction of themselves and others lack this one observation. That we are all the same. Good poem. Reaching. Man builds his dreams far too low, who build them under the stars. You are a transitional person.
Very powerful poem Con Sue.
Reflects te situation of countless people.
O course one can ask the question:
Do they have any kind of faith?
That they cannot escape the all-powerful hand? That they are being loved immeasurably?
Very powerful very sad!
Thank you Con Sue for sharing.
Love and peace
Elizabeth
