In the end we are all looking
for someone to pierce
the surface, make a mark,
and leave us forever
changed and illustrated. We want
a glimpse of the big picture
laid out on our skin. We hope
x will mark the spot, long
for the mystery revealed
in living color, a new language
that will speak of permanence.

very good.I have a tattoo myself. Tattoos are just like piercings, clothes or anything else. They are a way of expression. They help people tell something about themselves. Mine are stars but stars have a symbolic meaning to me. Beacause when I was little I was told that when someone (my dog when I was 5)dies they are living with the stars. So stars are kind of in remembrance of lost loved ones. Family n friends. |

Great thing about tattoo's when they are new we see it as art........as time moves on and the body changes.......we get to see the cartoons in the mirror, everything sags even the tattoo.
Thanks for sharing.

Ouch. You have hit the nail on the head. Interesting explanation of the often-nameless something we all seek when giving into our base nature and yet so much good can come of it. What a thoughtful and thought-provoking piece.
