MOONLIT ~ RENDEZVOUS

Contributed by AnGeL_M on Sunday, 6th June 2004 @ 09:52:59 AM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

A lone figure in the moonlight, she stood on the hill.
Breeze wafting through her golden hair, long and flowing,
shimmering like celestial stars, until
it simply appeared to be glowing.
Standing there patiently, waiting for him to come soon,
Under the light of a sparkling crescent moon.

She sighed, eyes brimming with tears
Thoughts racing though her mind, crying out for
One solution, one person to ease her fears.
Suddenly, she spotted a shadowy figure
advancing more and more
humming a sweet, low tune
Under the light of a sparkling crescent moon.

An armored figure emerged from the night
With a smile on his handsome face,
His sapphire eyes sparkled with delight
The instant she saw him fear left without a trace.
He wrapped his arms around her, creating a safe cocoon,
Under the light of a sparkling crescent moon.

She reached up and lightly kissed his cheek
As a light wind blew and ruffled his ebony hair,
She sighed with happiness;
She had not seen him for a week.
Eagerly waiting for his return, almost in despair.
Remembering the announcement that he'd arrived at noon
Under the light of a sparkling crescent moon.

Sweet music wafted by, heard by people of the world,
Holding out his hand, he asked,
"Princess, may I have this dance?"
Giggling, into his arms she whirled,
The slow, achingly beautiful song filled the air with romance.
Holding each other close, not wanting to part soon,
Under the light of a sparkling crescent moon.

Dance after dance they twirled,
not wanting to leave each other's side,
Looking at her delicate face, he murmured,
"I love you with all my heart."
She gazed up at him, shimmering navy eyes wide,
With a smile that could melt the most iron heart, she said,
"I love you so much; not even heaven could keep us apart."
They kissed, as the world spun around them in a dizzying arc;
dawn was approaching soon,
Under the fading light of a sparkling crescent moon.
