Everlasting Love

Contributed by MilitaryPrince on Sunday, 6th June 2004 @ 08:29:32 AM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

In life we find, so many dear friends
They all claim they’ll love you up till the end
But I know, they won’t always come to you
When your down and you pout and your heart seems so blue
So when you find, you’re alone on the ground
You won’t have to wait, for me to come around

For when your friends all turn away
Forever with my brother my heart will stay
And when your cold, and it starts to rain
I’ll wonder why my heart feels this sudden pain
But deep inside I know it has to be…
That the brother I love has hit one knee

We’ve been through it all bro
Sometimes the good…sometimes the bad
And when I do leave, please, do not be sad
For no matter what else in life goes away
My heart will be yours forever it will stay

And if the day comes, that I leave earth too soon
Inside you should know we’re underneath the same moon
Each day I still thank the great lord above
For giving me the brother I so deeply love
It’s because this bond we have is so rare
In the end he must grant me my only prayer

He’ll send me back here as a beautiful dove
To be near my friend, the brother I love
Sometimes you may wonder, how dumb birds can be
For they fly into glass that you know they can see
But maybe inside they see the windows rise
For the love they have must play tricks on the eyes

It’s because of past love, so deep and so strong
That birds will do what we feel is so wrong
And on those days when you feel that cold rain
Inside, the bird still shares your pain
And on the day your heart turns so blue
That bird will hit glass, reaching out for you

So the next time you hear that familiar *Thump*
Do not be scared, don’t let yourself jump
Instead fall down, straight to your knees
And thank our dear lord, for all that you see

For there is a soul way up in the sky
That loved you too much to say goodbye
And the next time you see a beautiful dove
Thank God for your gift of eternal love...

This is such a wonderful poetic dedication to your brother. He is very lucky to have you there to support him through the rough times. Thank you for sharing this with us. This was beautiful.
