The Key

Suicide
|
Lying on my bed,
Wondering how I fit into this world,
Coming up empty,
But with a full tank of hurt.
I make my way outside,
Hoping no one can see,
I’m in the garage now,
Where in my hand I hold the key –
The key to a better life,
A bottle of poison,
Where as I drink I can hide
From the pain that plagues me.
One gulp down, I take a deep breath,
I swallow hard and await an imminent death.
Two gulps now, I’m growing dizzy and faint,
I fall to the ground, my happiness I await.
There’s a note by my side that tells everyone why
I had to do this, why I wanted to die –
“You did this to me, you all brought me here
By pushing me away and never wanting me near.”
Everything’s black now, my pulse is so weak,
But at least my future no longer seems bleak.
