CHiLDHooD iNNoCeNCe (VoL. 1)

Contributed by strange_lindsey on Saturday, 5th June 2004 @ 03:53:19 PM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

Today she lokked out the window
Yesterday is unrecognizable through the glare
Tomorrow so hazy, so blurred, so unsure
But for now this life is at a stand still.

She kissed the cold and icy glass
And breathed in a sigh of relief
The white and blue wonderland is protecting her
Giving her thoughts she never knew she could dream.

The flakes of soft, cottony snow
Fall and land at her feet
She gobbles it up piece by piece
Savoring every bit of nature's cotton candy treat.

Bundled up in a coat and gloves
Snow shoes cover her toes
She played and ran and laughed
And whiped the frost from her nose.

Then as quickly as it came
The dream disappear; only tears remain
She was hidden under her pink bed sheets
Try to block out the shouting from the room down the hall.

She sat there staring from her bed
Out the window; hoping for more
She never got to see such beautiful things except in her mind
And then came the noise of the opening door...

(To Be Continued)

I can't wait to see how you tie this all together.
I think it will be very good overall and individually.
I look forward to the next parts.
Very descriptive and nicely written. :)

Yes a contented sleep adn a beautiful dream, softness and quiet........only to wake to a harsh loud and rough realization, not all comes from the room down the hall, it can also be from a room from within.

Excellent poem, Thank you so much for sharing. I look forward to the remaining volumns.

Chris

I know how hard this must have been to write, as it's hard to even read...yet, it's so captivating that I cannot turn away...

Blind, deaf and mute,
