The Seretonin Thieves

Contributed by pixie on Saturday, 5th June 2004 @ 11:46:48 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Can you hear me I am in your skull,
I am the force that keeps your thoughts dull,
I travel inside you spreading my poisoned seed,
I know only of how to carry out the dirty deeds.

I laugh in the face of serotonin,
When I see any trace of happiness I hone in,
Hone in to kill , destroy all the reminisce of good feelings,
I don’t work alone I have a lot of little siblings.

They breed in the brains of other hosts,
Going unseen , we are like ghosts,
It is impossible to ignore all that we do,
We track down any feelings that don’t make you feel blue.

No amount of tablets can silence me
When my work is done you’ll see,
There will be nothing left of you as a person,
Everything in life will become black and then worsen.

You’ll contemplate ending your own life,
With it be by gun, pills or a knife?
But I won’t care because I will have won,
I’ll make sure your eyes never witness the rising of another morning sun

I give this a capital A for Awesomeness. I really liked this even though I thought it was going to be about pills and how they try to alter the serotinin and usually... fail. In any case a great poem I loved it.

Like the rest of your poetry, this is phenomenal. I fight with this depression-demon constantly, and the way you express it is so great. keep em coming....
