There is a voice in me,
locked up deep inside.
It's trying to break free,
but instead I make it hide.
I pretend to be happy,
like my life is full of glee.
When the truth is,
my life is full of misery.
I want to scream.
I want to cry.
But instead I smile,
and laugh as I sigh.
People think my life is perfect,
but in truth it is not.
All because I keep that voice,
under key and lock.

Nice title. I think every teenager goes through some identity crisis, and it eventually becomes focused when you meet new people and fall through holes of new experiences. I know this poem spoke to many.
