Cast my mind
Time was wasting
Thoughts ran too far a distance
And stole too much of
What might have been spent
And my sorry flesh weeps
With sweat
In the heat of
Too many regrets
And grief
Yes, we became something
Still was that enough
When we had yet to sow
And you ached so to reap
More than I was willing
And for you to deny me blame
In this case
I cannot accept
My fault lies deep
Buried with the us that was,
The us that could have been.

Excellent. I feel it's one of those poems that can be read and interpreted more than one way. Which in my opinion is the best kind. |
