the beautiful rose

Contributed by AmaNdAsHepArD on Friday, 4th June 2004 @ 10:08:45 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

the satin rose blooms brightly
in the sun light of a crisp summer day
standing in a field she is the only flower
round these parts
but yet she is not happy
for there is no one to share her sun
and no one comes to smell
the sweetness of the blooming rose
she stands tall
her neck stretched toward the sky
her hair blossoned and spread so far apart
her thorns are sharp and many
but yet in all her beauty
she is lonely and afraid
for when night falls upon the field
she wilts and weeps alone
