Red river runs deep

Contributed by Bohemian_with_a_pen on Friday, 4th June 2004 @ 05:12:09 AM in AEST
Topic: drugabuse

Falling into old habits, its hard to climb out
scream for help all u want, no one will ever hear you shout
Friends become strangers, strangers feed your hobby
Sidling down the hallway, hiding in the lobby
Satan wears an overcoat and meets you in dark alleys
Red river runs deep, used veins become valleys
I've lost everything, my own sense of self
I'm the same decaying matter as everyone else
My lifes going to quickly, hell wont wait
for ***** sake save me before its too late...

I hear you brother man. This is a good write.
Showing your addiction and your fight. Very deep does the river run, but where it goes it come to find you. And as you put it, the addiction can't have you unless you have it. It sounds like you don't want it. Keep that in your mind and bekieve god can give you the strength it's only a matter of time. Good luck, God bless you, & my prayers go for you in your realization that you are stronger than you remember.

Echo. Sorry to hear you're having dificulties, but awsome write! This conveyed so much emotion and was written so beautifully! I have never been addicted to drugs, but your poem was so powerful that... I dunno. It was amazing. Lots of luck on kicking the habbit!
