I hate the hurt that you had to bear
And I hate the people that put it there.
I want to clear the smear and lift you high
Show you your wings and how to fly.
But I can only wipe the tears from your eye
And hold you close while you cry.
I can only love you and cherish you
And be a friend that comes through.
I pray that your life blossoms into
That beautiful flower that is deep inside you.
I want to be there and to see
That moment when you are truly set free.
I think you’re afraid the world will not know
Your potential and the gifts you have to bestow.
But Juanita, your love can be seen everywhere
And in this world your gift is so precious and rare.
Please always remember how you touch lives
That God has the power to heal – you’ll survive.
Thank you for the trust that you have placed with me
I know it’s value and will be the best I can be.
