Pen to Paper

Contributed by jt on Friday, 4th June 2004 @ 12:42:56 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

This is the time I like the most
Alone with pen to paper
To release the hurt and pain inside
From life, the mental raper

Feeling sorry for paths left behind
Paths that were never taken
Paths that would have led somewhere else
Paths that were often mistaken

A different life? A new beginning?
We want what we haven’t achieved
Want to turn back the hands of time
But cant, yet we still wont believe

This cannot be it for me or my time
A crossroad is reached every day
But to keep all the bastards round happy
I must choose very carefully the way

Its the pressure of life, no,
the pressure of people
That keep us from being ourselves
Like a tin of food in a supermarket
Human beans lined up on the shelf

But where would I be and who would I be
If Id taken the path least used
So I sit here alone, by myself and just think
As from life my mind just gets abused.....

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
