My Components

Contributed by WorthlesSanity666 on Thursday, 3rd June 2004 @ 09:06:19 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Pain has become
a part of me,
fused into
my very being.
Each scar on my arm
tells a startling story.
The darkness that
stirs within me
has flared to the surface,
it is my skin
until I die.

This was a great read, but yet. I can not for the life of me, catch the concept of why, so many of you write about doing stupid things to your bodies. I think you all need a mentor to look up to in life, and I also think if you all looked upon the Lord. Then maybe some if not all would have a much better life.

Good poem, very vivid and powerful . . . trust me, you're not alone.

Now then, a slight bone to pick with the previous commentor--

"I can not for the life of me, catch the concept of why, so many of you write about doing stupid things to your bodies."

Okay. Whoa. It's perfectly fine if you can't understand . . . but never, EVER tell someone in pain that what they are doing is stupid. Never, EVER judge someone for trying to cope with life the best way they know how. Never, EVER call something stupid because you yourself don't understand it.

And, for goodness sake, if I may quote Bob Dylan, "don't criticize what you can't understand"-- PLEASE.

Telling a cutter that they are being stupid, or doing something stupid, does not make them feel better. It does not help. It does not make them stop cutting. All it does is add yet more stress, more pain, more guilt, more lack-of-self-esteem, to someone who already has more than enough.

Please, please, stop. Thank you.

To the author-- sorry about taking up commenting space to address this, but I felt it needed to be said.

--Nora

I completley agree with Nora. I really like this, so few words yet straight to the point. It was well written and couldnt have been said better.

Great write

short, true, an opening color of ...,
I think I've asked you about it before, What about piercings, tats, body art?
I hope you're feeling a little better today.
Oh, the last poem made me sad. You know you are his strength, please take care of him.
I know you feel lost, let him be your compass, and this will keep him from lossing his way. I pray for you. You know that, and you read it, there are many of use here for you. If you want to talk, or just vent, whatever, this is your society. You are apart of our community. So please be careful.
