Eyes lock in an instant
Both break away as quickly
There you linger in the back of my mind
Slowly you walk to my side
Each step forces my heart to race faster
Adrenaline surges suddenly
I try to hide my quivering hands,
Try to control my gasping breath
You capture my gaze again
I breathe in your soul
So many lives we’ve lived together
I remember you
Music weakens and faces fade
Eyes open in my dark room
Another day looms ahead of me
Another day alone, without you

loved the third stanza -
very melodic and touching.
The second kind of struggled to me, it felt hard.
Over all, you captured a great moment, and I enjoyed it. |
